MiniCPM-V-4.7-35B-A3B — ROCmFPX GGUF
openbmb/MiniCPM-V-4.7-35B-A3B quantized to the ROCmFPX formats (ROCmFP2/4/6/8, ROCmI4), a llama.cpp fork with AMD-oriented low-bit weight types for Vulkan and HIP/ROCm.
Start with Q4_0_ROCMFP4. It is the closest 4-bit file to the original. The other 4-bit files are
recipes that ROCmFPX tuned and validated on AMD Strix Halo (Ryzen AI Max, gfx1151).
These files only load in the ROCmFPX fork. Stock llama.cpp, LM Studio and Ollama do not know these types.
Text only. MiniCPM-V 4.7 is a vision-language model, but the ROCmFPX fork does not yet have its vision projector, so these files are for text. For image input use upstream llama.cpp with standard quants.
Files and measured quality
Measured against the BF16 model (65GB, perplexity 6.1663) on WikiText-2 test, 40 chunks of 512 tokens. KLD is the mean KL divergence of the token distribution from BF16 (lower is better). Same top is how often the quant picks the same next token as BF16.

How these were made
convert_hf_to_gguf.py --no-mtp --outtype bf16from upstream llama.cpp. The config lists one MTP layer but the checkpoint ships no MTP weights, so the MTP head is left out.- Importance matrix from the BF16 model: 300 chunks × 512 tokens of WikiText-103 train text.
llama-quantize --imatrixfrom ROCmFPX (fb08d7c), one run per type.- Perplexity and KL divergence on the CPU backend (
-dev none --no-op-offload). The fork's CUDA kernels for these types are not correct on NVIDIA, so no GPU numbers are used. These numbers describe the stored weights. AMD GPU kernels compute the same math in a different order and some paths also quantize activations (most of all the opt-in ROCmI4 W4A4 path), so results on an AMD GPU can be slightly worse. Reports ofllama-perplexityresults on AMD hardware are welcome.
Quantizing is CPU-only and deterministic: the same command gives byte-identical files on x86 and ARM.
