Anyone else seeing faint tiling/banding at default 25 steps? (fix included)
Has anyone else run into subtle tiling or banding artifacts when zoomed in on skin or fine textures? At the default 25 steps I noticed faint but consistent banding on close inspection (skin, fabric, fur), barely visible at normal viewing scale, but clearly there once you zoom in.
I tried ruling out the usual suspects before assuming it was just me:
-Diffusion model: int8_convrot vs bf16: artifact present either way
-Text encoder: int8_convrot vs bf16: same
-Scheduler: simple vs normal: same
-VAE: only one official variant available, artifact present
here's a fix, and it also matches Qwen's own official recommended settings, which the ComfyUI template doesn't reflect: ( bump steps to 35–40 (same 1024×1024 resolution, no other changes). Artifact disappeared completely at 40.
Curious if others have seen this too, or if there's a cleaner explanation than "just needs more steps." I include an example of what I mean.
Use 40 steps and choose 2k quality.
Do t worry , it just additional 10s ++.
This model is too good, tiny and fast
