@AlexSchmitzi Well, both OpenAI and Anthropic are preparing an IPO, so news like this is worth billions to them - strong incentive. If you read OpenAIs blog post about this incident, you'll notice that they spend very little text on saying they're sorry and a lot on describing how good their model is (the only chart they show is about that). At the very least, OpenAI saw this as a marketing opportunity and used it.
