EVAN-3B-GGUF
EVAN-3B (
DawnLiu/EVAN-3B) is an open-weight 3B-parameter multimodal reasoning model built onQwen/Qwen2.5-VL-3B-Instruct, released under the Qwen Research License for non-commercial use. Introduced in the NeurIPS 2026 paper Grounding Multimodal Reasoning with Evidence-Ablated Negatives, it uses EVAN (Evidence-Ablated Negatives) training with DAPO onTIGER-Lab/ViRL39K. The method masks visual evidence during training to identify and penalize plausible but incorrect answers driven by language priors rather than image understanding. Across nine mathematical, scientific, and logical reasoning benchmarks, EVAN-3B achieves 51.6% average accuracy, outperforming its Qwen2.5-VL-3B base (30.7%) and a standard DAPO baseline (50.3%). It leads on eight of nine benchmarks, scoring Geo3K 39.9%, MathVista 62.7%, MathVerse 62.8%, We-Math 64.6%, DynaMath 60.6%, MathVision 27.6%, MMMU-Pro 31.0%, and LogicVista 43.3%, alongside 71.5% on MMK12. The model supports BF16 inference through Hugging Face Transformers (transformers>=4.57,AutoModelForImageTextToText, andAutoProcessor) and vLLM, withtop_k=50configured inSamplingParams. Its reasoning format uses<think>...</think>followed by a final answer in\boxed{}.
EVAN-3B was previously named EAN-3B. The GGUF files retain the EAN-3B name prefix because the source model author only changed the model name, while the weights remain unchanged. To learn more, see the change commit.
