seti-tools
Technosignature searches on public astronomical archives: the code, the papers, and a database of what every run searched and found.
| Path | Contents |
|---|---|
seti.py |
the entry point: python -I seti.py <family> <approach> <mode> |
setitools/ |
archive clients, rest frames, spectral and radio searches, time series, the coverage store, and in searches/ the twelve family modules, each approach's docstring giving its data, detection rule and modes |
coverage.db |
SQLite: one row per run, one per target searched |
RESULTS.md |
one line per approach |
docs/, recipes/ |
methods, vetting, archives, the ledger of approaches, one recipe per family |
papers/ |
the papers and their sources |
Python 3.11+ with requirements.txt (torch for the GPU paths only). Paths come from SETI_DATA, SETI_CACHE,
SETI_RESULTS and SETI_COVERAGE, or a config file outside the repository (keys in local_config.example.json).
python -I selftest.py checks the package, python -I seti.py <family> lists a family's approaches,
python -m setitools.coverage card <target> lists every run that covered a target, and table regenerates RESULTS.md.
