Error: pull model manifest: realm host "huggingface.co" does not match original host "hf.co"
Hi, thanks for reporting this!
This isn't a problem with the model files — it's an Ollama client-side error. When Ollama pulls from hf.co/..., Hugging Face's auth token endpoint (the realm in the WWW-Authenticate header) points at huggingface.co, while your pull started from hf.co. Some Ollama versions have a strict security check that rejects a token realm whose host differs from the original registry host, which is exactly what you're hitting:
realm host "huggingface.co" does not match original host "hf.co"
The downloads themselves are fine. To fix it:
- Update Ollama to the latest version and retry — this is by far the most common fix.
- Use the canonical shorthand exactly, with
hf.co(nothuggingface.co):
ollama run hf.co/orcarouter/OrcaCyber-Nano-1.0:<QUANT>
- If you're behind a corporate proxy / VPN, try bypassing it — a proxy can rewrite the auth realm host and trigger this check.
- As a fallback that skips Ollama's registry path entirely, download the
.gguffrom the Files and versions tab (orcurl -Ltheresolve/main/...URL) and import it with a Modelfile:
echo 'FROM ./OrcaCyber-Nano-1.0-<QUANT>.gguf' > Modelfile
ollama create orcacyber-nano -f Modelfile
Updating Ollama resolves this in almost all cases. Let us know if it still fails after that!
