Parakeet Ultra (OpenVINO IR) for Safenotes

Moondream's Parakeet Ultra speech-recognition model (a post-trained NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3, 25 European languages) converted to OpenVINO IR so it runs on Intel NPUs, GPUs and CPUs.

This is a format conversion made by Safenotes (a local, on-device meeting notetaker) so the model runs on Intel hardware (OpenVINO). It is not an official release of the original authors, who do not endorse it. All credit for the model goes to them.

Original model and attribution

• It is a post-trained version of Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 by NVIDIA: nvidia/parakeet-tdt-0.6b-v3 at revision 541d1f99c6b0c3cd0b11a95167540bb8edefd82b, licensed CC-BY-4.0.

Changes made by Safenotes

The original weights (fp16 safetensors) were loaded into the NeMo model of nvidia/parakeet-tdt-0.6b-v3 @541d1f99 and its modules (mel spectrogram, encoder, decoder, joint) exported to OpenVINO IR with fp16 weights (the original's own precision) in the FluidInference parakeet OpenVINO layout. No retraining, no quantisation. The model's voice-activity head (vad_head.*) is not included. Tools: nemo_toolkit 3.0.0, torch 2.10.0+cpu, openvino 2026.4.1. LICENSE-NOTICE.txt repeats this attribution next to the files.

How Safenotes uses it

Safenotes uses it for live captions in 25 European languages on Intel NPUs and GPUs (OpenVINO). The Safenotes app downloads the files below from a pinned revision of this repository and checks every file's sha256 before using it. Everything runs on the user's PC; no audio or text leaves it.
