[LICENSE] Appeal to reconsider licensing following Gemma 4 Release being Apache 2.0
This is a personal appeal letter to google and the Gemma theme.
Hi. First of all thank you for pivoting to fully Open-source licensing for the sequel of this model family.
Gemma 4 is a brilliant model and its release was an altruistic decision.
On that note, I request for the sake of derivative models and digital perservation that the Gemma 3 model family gets relicensed to Apache 2.0 as well. Derivative models like the Borealis-open family of Norwegian language models would therefore be eligible for same licnese,
and of course, we would prefer to have said model fully open source.
Should this message receive human attention by google, thank you for taking your time to read this.
Cheers,
marksverdhei
Let me see what we can do. No promises
