GeoTrace sun position model
Weights for the relative_sun_position_from_outdoor_lighting tool of GeoTrace.
The network is a DINOv2-small backbone with two classification heads: 64 bins for the sun azimuth relative to the camera and 16 bins for the sun altitude. Typical error is about 1.6° for altitude and 5.6° for azimuth.
It is an independent reimplementation of the sun-position part of All-Weather Deep Outdoor Lighting Estimation (Zhang et al., CVPR 2019), not the authors' code. The architecture and the decoding are in src/geotrace/core/sun_model.py.
GeoTrace downloads best.pt on first use with hf_hub_download, pinned to a revision of this repo.
