About WHITED (Parts 13, 14)
WHITED v1.1 — Worldwide Household and Industry Transient Energy Data Set (Kahl, Haq, Kriechbaumer, Jacobsen; TU München; NILM Workshop 2016). Start-up transient recordings of voltage + current at 44.1 kHz (stereo FLAC: one channel voltage, one current), 110 appliances / 47+ types (chargers, LED lamps, CFLs, kettles, fans, vacuum cleaners, drills, PC/TV power supplies, microwaves, ...) from 8 locations (Germany, Austria, Indonesia, Canada). Scale factors per recording kit (MK1/MK2/MK3) and region codes r1–r8 are in _readme.txt.
Why it's here: these are normal loads with switching transients, inrush, SMPS and motor noise, which are exactly what causes AFCI nuisance trips. Use them as hard negatives and for "unseen appliance" tests.

Read FLAC in Python with soundfile.read(path) (installed in Part 3/5 environments via librosa/soundfile) and multiply by the MK volt/curr factors.
Rebuilding split files
Files over 100 MB were split into *.part001, *.part002, ... pieces. After downloading the whole repo:
- Windows:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\join_parts.ps1 - Linux/macOS:
bash join_parts.sh
Both scripts rebuild the files and check them against SHA256SUMS.txt.
