An Icelandic-focused fine-tune of Google's Gemma 4 31B (instruction-tuned), adapted for stronger Icelandic (íslenska) — morphology/inflection, reading comprehension, and reasoning.
- Base model: google/gemma-4-31b-it
- Language: Icelandic
- Use: standard text generation; apply the Gemma chat template (
tokenizer.apply_chat_template). Load the text path on GPU (Gemma4ForConditionalGeneration,.to("cuda")).
License
This is a Gemma derivative. Use is governed by the Gemma Terms of Use; the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy applies. "Gemma" is retained in the model name as required.
Notes
Fine-tuned for Icelandic accuracy. Strongest on inflection/morphology, reading, and reasoning; factual-recall (knowledge) and grammatical-error-detection tasks were not specifically targeted. Training data and methodology are proprietary and not distributed with the model.
