One thing I'd love to hear more about from both believers and skeptics:
The codename.
The leak narrative says Anthropic's internal codename was "Numbat." Meanwhile, Perplexity's Numbat became a fairly visible AI-agent security project in July 2026.
Given that Mythos access was largely aimed at trusted cybersecurity and security-research programs, the naming overlap feels unusual.
Not presenting this as evidence for or against the leak. I'm just wondering whether anyone has found an independent source for the codename that doesn't ultimately lead back to the Hugging Face repository.
That seems like the kind of detail that could either strengthen or weaken the story depending on what's uncovered.
