ISPOG — Is it Playable On Guitar?

ISPOG is a Python tool for automatically analyzing the playability of MusicXML scores on the classical guitar. It analyzes fretboard positions, concurrent note detection, fingerings, and barré chords, returning a colored score (green = playable, orange = difficult, red = unplayable).

Note: alpha build, not digitally signed. On macOS you may need to authorize the app via System Preferences → Security & Privacy on first launch (Gatekeeper blocks unsigned/non-notarized apps).

Quick usage

  1. Launch the application.
  2. Load a MusicXML file via "Load MusicXML File".
  3. Select the tuning (standard, Drop D, Open G, or custom) and number of frets.
  4. Click "Analyze Playability".
  5. Save the resulting colored file when prompted by the save dialog.
