MedInf-AI – Medical Informatics in Anesthesiology & Intensive Care
MedInf-AI is a research group working at the interface of medical informatics, anesthesiology, and intensive care medicine.
We design, implement, and evaluate digital systems that support clinicians with guideline-based decision support, machine learning models, and usable clinical interfaces.
Our goal is to turn routine clinical data and evidence-based guidance into reliable, transparent, and clinically actionable tools for everyday care.
Research Focus
- Digital clinical guidelines & automated monitoring
- Representation of clinical practice guidelines using FHIR and related standards
- Automated assessment of guideline applicability and adherence on standardized clinical data (e.g., OMOP, FHIR)
- ML for critical care & perioperative medicine
- Predictive models for critical clinical events (e.g., sepsis, organ dysfunction, postoperative complications)
- Robust modelling across heterogeneous ICU environments
- Clinical decision support & usability
- Designing context-aware decision support that fits into existing workflows
