The smaller models slow my generation down

I was testing with the experimental models and I am getting longer times (about 110% slower) with the experimental VAE and Diffusers, I don't understand why this is happening, by logic the smaller models should run faster, correct?
Ryzen 7, 64gb Ram, RTX 4090
