Commercial use and redistribution of Karaoke_GaboxV2
Hi, and thank you for sharing these models.
I'm building a small iOS app that separates a song into lead vocal, harmony vocal, and instrumental, to help singers learn harmony parts by ear. Everything runs on-device, and I'm hoping to release it as a paid, one-time-purchase app.
I'm currently using the following checkpoint for the lead/harmony separation stage:
melbandroformers/experimental/Karaoke_GaboxV2.ckpt- SHA-256:
ec34be50327aeaf1a996c27977f5c30d1ac80c0076d69683d3e5184c31ea29d3
I couldn't find a license file or model card for this checkpoint, so I wanted to ask directly rather than make any assumptions.
I have two questions:
Is commercial use allowed?
Specifically, may I distribute this model as part of a paid, closed-source app? What license or permission applies to it?
If you don't plan to assign a formal license, even a simple statement such as "commercial use is fine with credit" would be very helpful. I mainly need something clear that I can refer back to when determining whether I can distribute the model.
To clarify what "distribution" means in my case: the original checkpoint would be converted to Apple's Core ML format and bundled with the app.
This means a converted copy of the model weights would be distributed to users' devices.
I'm happy to provide attribution in whatever form you prefer.
And of course, if commercial distribution isn't something you want to allow, that's completely fine. I'd just like to confirm before going any further with the release.
Thanks again for making these models available.
It's fine, just credit it as "by Gabox"
Thank you, that's very helpful. I'll credit it as "by Gabox" in the app. Appreciate you sharing the models.
