What’s the repo gate for?
The card publishes the full merge recipe, including every LoRA, its strength, and the base checkpoint, so the gate isn’t protecting anything technical. What is the username and email collection being used for? A merge that bakes in other creators’ CivitAI LoRAs seems like an odd release to put behind a contact-info wall.
Edit: Same question for the TaoMate repo: per its own card it’s Alibaba TaoLive’s official LoRA converted for ComfyUI, and it’s behind the same contact-info gate.
Thanks for raising this — it’s a fair question. The gate was not meant to hide the merge recipe; the model card already lists the base checkpoint, adapter sources, and strengths. I’m reviewing whether collecting usernames and emails is justified here. If there’s no clear need for that information, I’ll disable its collection or remove the gate.
I also agree that gating does not resolve licensing or redistribution questions for third-party LoRAs. I’ll review the terms and attribution for each included adapter and clarify them on the model card. The TaoMate repo is a separate conversion, so I’ll clarify its source, conversion, and licensing information there as well.
