Qwen Open System Prompts (QOSP)
A central hub of hand-made system prompts useful for each Qwen family. These prompts are NOT extractions from the official Qwen site.
These prompts serve as a base, you must build upon it to shape it to your liking! The main use for this is for professional systems.
What is a System Prompt?
A system prompt is the initial instructions you give an AI model that sets its behavior, personality, constraints, and role for a conversation. These system prompts guide how the model should respond to the user throughout the conversation. For example, a system prompt might instruct an AI model to "respond concisely" or "think step-by-step," shaping its entire approach to answering the user's question.
Choosing a System Prompt
For each generation of Qwen models there will be a folder named specifically for that version, such as Qwen3.5, Qwen3, Qwen2.5 ect. You can use any of the system prompts for any model, but I personally keep separate prompts for each version as the prompt states what the model is.
The base system prompt you receive here will for sure need editing, as this is purely a base after all.

Why do this?
System prompts are super powerful and can shape how the AI responds to certain tasks, which can lead to either the right answer or the wrong one. System prompts help to steer the model into the right path as well as produce outputs to the user's liking.
XML Tags
Certain sections of the system prompt are separated using XML tags to improve organization and provide clear structural dividers. Examples include <model_identity>, <capabilities>, and <training_cutoff>. Their use is entirely optional, and they may be removed without affecting the prompt’s original functionality.
Archive Folder
The archive folder stores previous iterations of the system prompts for version history and reference, while keeping original prompts accessible for future use.
Licensing
These are just system prompts, and should be open for anyone and everyone. Feel free to do whatever you'd like with these entirely!
