Thank you for releasing this model! Unfortunately, due to the CC-BY-NC license, it is not open sourced. Would you consider changing the license to a more permissive license (ie Apache) so it could be open sourced?

Hi folks. We’ve released these weights to enable other researchers and developers to experiment, explore and build - but specifically for non-commercial purposes. We based our license on the CC-BY-NC license, as Creative Commons licenses are already widely familiar, and there’s some existing precedent for use in ML models.
When we release a model under another license, like the Aya model which is Apache 2.0, we will create a new model card. You can follow the organization to see when we release new models.
