Important Next Steps for the Wyze Rule Recommendation Challenge Finalists
Dear Challenge Participants,
As the Wyze Rule Recommendation Challenge draws to a close, we are thrilled by the ingenuity and dedication demonstrated throughout this competition. Your contributions have been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of smart home AI.
Attention to the Top Three Teams
While we are eager to celebrate the winners, it's crucial to adhere to our competition's stringent rules and evaluation process. Before we can officially announce the winners, we need to conduct a thorough review of the models submitted by the top three teams ( @VincentSchuler , @fconti , @Ilde ).
Required Action for Top Three Teams
Submission of Models and Documentation: If you are among the top three teams, we kindly request that you submit your models along with comprehensive documentation on how to run them. This is a vital step to ensure the authenticity and compliance of your solution with the challenge's guidelines.
Email for Submissions: Please send your models and accompanying documentation to
mkamani@wyze.com
at your earliest convenience.Review Process: Our team will carefully review each submission to verify its alignment with the challenge's terms and conditions. This process is crucial to ensure that we uphold the integrity and fairness of the competition.
Anticipating the Announcement
Once the review process is complete and we have validated the top models, we will be excited to announce the winners officially. This announcement is tentatively scheduled for December 1, 2023, at the FedGraph 2023 workshop.
Acknowledgements
We want to extend our gratitude to all participants for their hard work and innovative contributions. Each entry has played a significant role in advancing the field of smart home automation.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the winners, and thank you once again for your dedication and participation in the Wyze Rule Recommendation Challenge.

Mahdi Kamani

I'm not sure I know how to go about the documentation of it. Is a brief explanation on how I went about it plus notebooks used sufficient documentation? If you have any examples of the type of documentation that would be most convenient for you guys, would be great too. Cheers
I think enough explanation that we can run it on our own database for testing should be sufficient. I think a notebook with documentation should be good. If we have issues running them we will get back to you.
Hi @mmkamani7 ,
I want to express my gratitude for the clear instructions you provided. I greatly appreciated the competition. I will send everything this weekend.
I have a couple of clarifications:
- For this phase, is it necessary to include the code used for training the model, or is it sufficient to share only what's needed to reproduce the performance on the test set?
- Could you please confirm if the competition terms allow us to upload our code to GitHub?
Thank you in advance!
Thanks
@mmkamani7

Hi @VincentSchuler ,
Friendly reminder that I haven't received any updates from your end yet. This step is crucial in accordance with the challenge rules to determine the winning teams. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
