Posts is a great concept, but I think it is very limited in its current form.
The primary issue is that it is unclear to me what exactly Posts is trying to be. The character/word limit is too long for a Twitter-like microblogging platform, but is way too limiting for proper blog posts or research. Similarly, the lack of formatting features (inline images, LaTeX, markdown, etc) is limiting.
If it's merely a platform for announcement-style posts, the concept seems strange to me - why would I write my announcements on the same site that I'm already pushing my model to? It would be more effective to write announcements on Twitter/etc.
If it intends to be usable for proper reports though, then it is far too limiting in its current form.
I agree. There can be made improvements.
