The galactic Zoo Pt. VIII - Molluskoids: The Soft Ones
We have already looked at galactic creatures bearing an endoskeleton (Vertebratoids) and at those with an exoskeleton (Arthropodoids). Today, we look at those having no skeletton at all: The Molluskoids, such as snails, slugs, clams, squids and octopussies etc. , mostly found on ocean worlds.
These were the beasts that gave H.P.Lovecraft the creeps. Their soft, slimy bodies, wriggling and writhing with tentacles and pseudopods must have been his personal phobia. As a 20th century author of Horror an Science Fiction, his imaginative writings have badly misled the human perception of extraterrestial life.

However, we modern Xenobiologists aren't that squeamish and marvel at the eerie beauty of these alien life forms.
