The exact origin of the original copypasta is unknown, but messages containing variations of the phrase "despite being only X percentage of the population" have been widely circulated within white supremacist online communities. On April 27th, 2015, a post on the community /r/ShitRedditSays was submitted, which identified a copypasta containing a variation of the statistic as coming from the Neo-Nazi and white supremacist site Stormfront.
