There should be lbox they pulldown and select either 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, or 8th grade. Then there's a box that will enter the word count. That box be larger. Then you need to take that information and do a math problem. 5th graders should read 137 words per minute. 6th 141, 7th 141, and 8th 135. Take the total number words of the reading and then calculate how long a timer should be set to for that reading. kids will then see this timer on a screen. The teacher then should be able to click on the timer to start the countdown timer.
