Here's a snippet of conversation:

Me: why did you chose to use sinister imagery for Gnosticism?
AI: As an AI language model, my responses are based on the information and patterns found in the data I was trained on. In this case, the initial description provided for generating images about Gnosticism included elements like "malevolent deities," "evil demiurges," and "trapped in a material realm." These concepts inherently carry connotations of darkness, secrecy, and danger. Therefore, it follows naturally that the stable diffusion prompt would include sinister imagery to convey the essence of Gnosticism as described. Additionally, the use of eerie atmospherics and occult symbolism adds depth and intrigue to the image, making it more captivating and memorable for those familiar with the subject matter.

Me: I search for Gnosticism online. It doesn't looks sinister to me
AI: That's interesting. While there are certainly different interpretations and expressions of Gnosticism throughout history, the specific details I used in the original prompt were drawn from certain Gnostic texts and traditions that emphasized themes of duality, opposition between light and darkness, and the need for spiritual warfare to overcome the obstacles placed in our way by malevolent powers. These ideas can indeed evoke feelings of fear, uncertainty, and even terror when taken to their extremes. However, it's worth remembering that no single interpretation of any religion or philosophy fully captures its entirety; each individual's experience and understanding will vary depending on their circumstances, background, and personal beliefs.

Me: care to share those details?
AI: Of course! Some of the specific sources and ideas that informed the original xxx include:

The Nag Hammadi Library: A collection of thirteen ancient Coptic codices discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt in 1945. Containing over fifty early Christian Gnostic texts, they offer insights into various Gnostic sects and their beliefs. Among these documents are works like the Apocryphon of John, which describes a battle between the disciple John and a demon called Saklas (a derogatory term meaning "fool" or "liar") who pretends to be god but is actually the ruler of the material world. Other texts like On the Origin of the World and Thunder: Perfect Mind also touch upon themes of cosmic conflict and dualistic cosmology.

Valentinians: A prominent Gnostic group named after their founder, Valentinus. They believed that the material world was created by a lesser, flawed deity known as the Demiurge, while the supreme God remained uninvolved and unaware of the chaos unfolding in his creation. According to Valentinian teachings, humans possess a spark of divinity (the "Divine Spark") trapped within their physical bodies, and must undergo spiritual purification through gnosis in order to reunite with the true Godhead.

Ophites: Another Gnostic movement characterized by their focus on the serpent figure in the Book of Genesis, often interpreted as a symbol of wisdom and enlightenment. Ophites believed that the serpent was a divine messenger sent to liberate humankind from bondage to the Demiurge, and that following its example could lead to spiritual freedom. Their beliefs often involved ritual practices involving sacred snakes and reptiles, seen as embodiments of transformative power.

Sethians: Named after the biblical figure Seth, this Gnostic group taught that Jesus Christ was not merely human but also possessed a divine aspect, specifically identified with the figure of Seth. For Sethians, salvation could only be attained through a direct connection with this divine aspect of Jesus, achieved through initiation into their secret teachings and rituals.

While these examples may seem dark or ominous at first glance, it's important to recognize that Gnosticism itself encompassed a wide range of beliefs and practices across diverse cultural contexts. What unifies these disparate groups is their shared conviction that hidden knowledge (gnosis) offers the key to understanding our place in the cosmos and achieving spiritual liberation.

Oh, and Undi, just an FYI, I haven't come across anything lewd like you have warned. But I'm glad it speaks freely.

Seriously Undi, is he right? Or the internet is wrong?

You can speak to it in a non lewd way, but it will tend to it, particularely with custom character

I don't know lmao. The goal of this model was seggs, not big brain talk. But i'm happy you enjoy it for this goal

Just throwing in my two cents, but I actually found the conversation above pretty insightful regarding the topic, and it seems to hold its ground well, even though it leans towards a specific viewpoint.

The emphasis on duality is spot on, but I noticed it's pretty much all about the darker side of things, which is fascinating in its own right. The notion that there are malevolent gods setting up hurdles for us sort of mirrors a more negative spin on the concept of 'catalyst'—you know, events that prompt you to react, adapt, and maybe evolve. This is another angle to view personal growth or spiritual cleansing. A more upbeat take might be that we're each a unique fragment of the divine (or unity), and in essence, we're orchestrating our own challenges to aid our own evolution. The interpretations don't really change the outcome; it's more about whether you see a glass that's filled halfway as half empty or half full.

And hey, could you share the entire conversation or at least what led to that image prompt?

Just going to echo my praise for this particular model here as I did on the GPTQ version. I have used quite a few models at this point running the same scenarios over and over again. This one just does an incredible job staying on topic, remembering context (set to 4096) and holding good conversations. Definitely one I can say will be permanently in my collection.
