How to produce longer responses?

I've changed several settings but the AI is still quite terse with responses. Funny, but terse.
Has anyone had luck getting more verbiage?
i think it really depends on the questions you ask. ive had 'lol' and ive also gotten 3-4 sentences out of it too. its a great model
