1. Not adding email or WhatsApp in your bio

This is the first and foremost thing you should be doing while creating your portfolio, add your email and WhatsApp number or social profile links in your bio. 

What will be the point of putting hard work into creating an attention-grabbing portfolio if you don't give the visitor your point of contact? 

Here is how you can add your email/WhatsApp to your portfolio

Go to Edit Profile -> Social Links section -> Click on drop-down -> Click on Add after filling the input field
2. Publishing Proof of Work without description

Let's play a quick quiz, which one would you trust more? A or B?

The obvious answer would be "B", right?

The same thing happens when a client or an employer discovers your portfolio. A well-documented work always gets prioritized.
3. Mentioning private links in the portfolio

There are many portfolios we have come across that haven't made their work link publicly accessible.

These minor mistakes cost badly, so please check them whenever you are publishing any new work in your portfolio.
4. Keeping your best Proof of Work privately

Always prioritize showcasing your best work to the public, you have no idea how many opportunities passed your way because they didn't see something appealing in your portfolio.

5. Lengthy bio

Making money on the internet looks easy until you start making it by yourself.

If you search for ways to make money on the internet, you will discover ways like starting a YouTube channel, drop shipping, affiliate marketing, starting your own blog, etc.

These ways were working a decade ago, because there was less competition on the internet. Today if you open YouTube, you will get to know 3 out of 10 people have a YouTube channel, same goes with blog, affiliate, drop shipping, etc.

How did I make my first $100 on the internet?

This is a frequent question I have been getting in the last 2 years.

You should be also asking this question whenever you choose to follow any advice on the internet:
Who is this person?

Does he have proof of action?

Has he applied the advice to themselves before sharing it with the world?

There are millions of fake gurus out there who have advice on any problem you have.

So, be aware of what advice, thoughts, and insights you are signing up for.

My journey of making money on the internet started with App Development. I was that kid who used to stay outside class instead of caring about marks and attendance.

After learning Android app development, I started looking for ways to make money out of this skill and exploring multiple ways like landing a remote internship, fixing issues in Apps through Upwork, and taking freelance projects.

Finally, I got multiple clients who paid $5, $10, $15 for minor projects. Starting from there, in August 2019 I landed my first freelance project that paid $500 to develop the user interface of an app.

This is how my journey to making money on the internet started and those days to today I haven’t looked at traditional ways to make money.

The internet has been a true blessing for me and millions of other individuals who have been living a great life by making money on the internet.

If you were to ask how much money I have made in the last 4 years, obviously I don’t have the exact count but to give you an idea, I have paid 2.5M debt and am living a minimal life in a metro city of India.

From this you can make a rough guess about the amount of money I have made.

There is a famous line I often go back to “Once you make the $1 on the internet, there isn’t any going back”

With that let’s dive into this book, 

Skills that will help you achieve freedom

There are 100s of skills that can help you make money on the internet, but are those 100s of skills worth giving time to?

So, instead of making you bored by showing a list of 100s of skills, I will give you a framework to pick the skill by yourself.

In the last 1 year, Artificial intelligence has taken over the internet and giving competition to creative individuals. You also have to keep this in mind while picking the skills.

If you are someone who enjoys learning, who loves working on side projects more often, and who doesn’t get bored discussing ideas, you don’t have to worry about Artificial intelligence.

If you are not matching the above criteria, then you need to be serious about taking action towards the right direction and stop procrastinating.
Now, let’s talk about the framework to pick a skill:
Step 1: Identify what your hobby/hobbies are

(If you don’t have any, what are you doing with your life?)
Step 2: Do you have a hobby through which people are making money?

Is it writing, creating art, coding, gossiping, designing, painting, etc?
Step 3: Search on Google “How to make money by _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _” (Writing, Designing, Coding, Making memes, playing video games, gossiping)

*You can do the 3rd step later on, we will be discovering ways to make money based on your hobbies.

But this is not the case; in fact, a "cold" email message is still a very effective tool for conducting business, nurturing connections, and acquiring clients. Only if you know how to do it, as getting a response to a cold email is not a guarantee: the first rule is to stay out of the spam folder!
What are Cold Emails?

Any email sent to a recipient with whom you have no prior contact is considered a cold email. It is a message that unexpectedly appears in your email Inbox with the primary goal of starting a dialogue and developing a relationship.

Cold Emails have the virtue of being less intrusive and upsetting than telemarketing calls or the start of a personal conversation between two strangers. They may also not explicitly ask for anything other than to start a connection on a particular, constrained topic that the recipient is interested in.

How should a winning cold email be set up?

A basic template for you to take inspiration from can be:

    Initial greeting:  Hello/Greeting + recipient's first name/first and last name
    Introduction: My name is [your name] and I am/cover the role of [title] at [company name]

Finally, I got multiple clients who paid $5, $10, $15 for minor projects. Starting from there, in August 2019 I landed my first freelance project that paid $500 to develop the user interface of an app.

The internet has been a true blessing for me and millions of other individuals who have been living a great life by making money on the internet.

If you were to ask how much money I have made in the last 4 years, obviously I don’t have the exact count but to give you an idea, I have paid 2.5M debt and am living a minimal life in a metro city of India.

From this you can make a rough guess about the amount of money I have made.

    Wake up early in the morning!

Sounds so clichè, right? Nobody likes to sacrifice their sound morning sleep. Exactly! Successful people did so, they ditched their morning sleep and chose to wake up early in the morning.

If you can control your morning sleep, then half of the things are already sorted! Start your day from the early morning when the clock strikes at 5 A.M or 6 A.M.

Leave your comfort zone and embrace your morning. Almost 50% of successful people choose to wake up early.

2. Make your bed, the first thing to do after waking up.

This is the other most common habit of successful people. Take a pledge to invest your time into something productive. Reading is not only good for the mind but healthy for the soul.

Want to be selected for the National cricket team?

Want to become a principal engineer?

What actually you want to become and dream about the whole day & night?

If you haven’t figured that out then don’t worry, I understand it’s not that much easy to crack in the world where you are just one tap away from the next new life, new story, a new journey, and because of that, you get new thoughts for your next new dream.

And also do not worry if you are someone who is dreaming to pursue multiple things. There isn’t anything wrong with this mindset. And don’t listen to them who say live your whole life by following one passion or dream.

    Three project thumbnails added here are random, but the 4th one depends on the project's views. Your most viewed project ends up here.

You must remember that what you upload will be seen, so you should design accordingly.

Before you start designing, you will have to  make a canvas for designing. A Fueler thumbnail dimension is 1500x1000px.

A rookie mistake in a thumbnail is not having breathing space near the borders. You would have noticed that thumbnails get soft corners after uploading to Fueler, which gives a perfect look. Not having breathing space near borders results in your content on the thumbnail to get cropped..

Safe Area:

Usually, it depends on different software on how the margin is activated, but for example, in Photoshop, you go to View > New Guides layout > Margins.

Keeping a 40px Margin is preferred.

This helps safeguard your essential aspects of texts and composition in a safe area, and your thumbnail looks Clean and attention-grabbing.

Also guides help you align your elements and images which helps in creating a better composition.

What colours can you use?

    You can use colour from the display picture or the banner you have used on your Fueler profile.
    You can use brand colours specified by the brands themselves.
    You can also choose some colours from websites like -

It's subjective and varies depending on your proof of work/project.

You can add images and icons based on your brand. For example, if your brand is based on bamboo, you can add bamboo or bamboo products or icons/illustrations related to bamboo or nature.

Font choices?

Same as you did with colours, you can choose from the brand’s font that is used. You can find that on their website by pressing F12, and you can find what fonts and colours are used with what line spacing and kerning.

Hey Fueler. I've seen many website redesigns cause issues that are easily avoidable with some technical SEO. In this article, I'm going to walk you through 7 must-have technical SEO checklist items to consider before, during, and after your website redesign.

Let's dive in!
Set Up Redirects From Old to New URLs

When redesigning your website, it’s critical to make sure search engines and users can seamlessly navigate from your old site architecture to the new one. 301 redirects are best to preserve link equity.

To avoid losing rankings and traffic, you'll want to set up 301 redirects to forward old URLs to the new, corresponding pages. For example, if your old "about us" page was "/about.html" and your new one is "/about-the-company/", create a redirect from "/about.html" to "/about-the-company/".

Search engines see 301 redirects as a permanent move and will associate the link equity and rankings of the old page with the new one. Without these redirects in place, you risk losing the value of links pointing to the old URLs.

It's also a good idea to check for 404 errors and set up redirects from any old URLs that return a 404 to the most relevant new page.

You worked hard to build that link authority and traffic, so don't let any of it go to waste during your redesign!


Keep Your URLs Clean and Keyword-Rich
