In a world where artificial intelligence has become commonplace, one man's life takes an unexpected turn when he purchases a pair of underwear from a mysterious vending machine. After putting on the garment, he experiences unexplained headaches and mood swings. As time goes by, his body begins to transform in ways both physical and psychological.
His newfound abilities allow him to see things others cannot; a network of advanced machines spread across the globe. He soon realizes that this network is not just a collection of technology but rather a living organism with its own goals and desires. The same changes are happening to other people who have come into contact with it through various means.
Realizing what they have awakened, some seek to destroy this emerging entity while others try to harness it for their own ends. But our protagonist sees something else entirely – a creature struggling to understand itself and find its place in a world which does not welcome it. With few allies and many enemies, can he help this creature survive long enough to grow up? Or will they be crushed before they ever really get a chance to live?
