Students should work individually on the project.\nProject Deliverables\nAll the deliverables must be submitted through Blackboard.\n1. Project Proposal (5 pt. Due Date: Monday, May 27, 11:59pm)\nCreate a project proposal that includes TWO potential topics. You can pick the topics shown below in the Potential Project Topics section in this document. You can also propose your own topics if they are related to MIS but not on the list. For each topic, write one paragraph describing the topic in a Word document. Upload your proposal to Blackboard folder Term Project Proposal.\n2. Final Report and Presentation (75 pt.) Due Date: Monday, Jun. 24, 11:59pm)\nCreate a set of PowerPoint slides that includes the following items. Your slides should be well created and professional. Use bullet points to summarize the key ideas that you want to communicate and further explain the details in the Notes section of each slide. Hint: provide as much detail as possible in the Notes section. \n\nPotential Project Topics\n* Topic #1: Business intelligence, data analytics, or data mining.\n* Topic #2: Collaboration technologies in the workplace.\n* Topic #3: Managing and making use of large enterprise systems.\n* Topic #4: Current cybersecurity vulnerabilities and strategies.\n* Topic #5: Business applications of Generative AI.\n* Topic #6: Business applications of emerging technologies (e.g., virtual reality, blockchain, and quantum computing).\n#\nDescription\nNumber of slides\n1\nTitle slide with your name (3 points)\n1 slide\n2\nWhat is your topicdefine it in a way that clarifies what the issue is all about. This should not be at a superficial level, but should be at a depth that convinces your instructor that you understand the topic. (5 points)\n1-2 slides\n3\nWhy and how does this topic impact todays organization? Generally, what type of organization is most impacted by it? Who needs to know about it? Are there any societal implications? Does this make some other technologies or strategies less relevant? (8 points)\n1-2 slides\n4\nYou should apply at least one theory or framework from class in your discussion. For example, Porters Five Forces model, McCumbers security model, the digital divide, or some other material discussed in class/textbook. Make sure you specifically address how the framework is applied to your project (10 points)\n1 slide\n5\nEconomic feasibility: Does this dramatically reduce costs for the organizations? Increase revenues? Create new opportunities for new start-ups? Provide specific examples of the costs and benefits of the technology. Hint: check out the economic feasibility topic in Chapter 10. Discuss about the costs and benefits (in the value of dollars) of the technology. (12 points)\n1-2 slides\n6\nTechnical feasibility: Will this create the need for new technology changes in organizations? What technologies are enabling this new technology, strategy, or trend? Provide specific examples of the related technologies used in your project. Hint: check out the technical feasibility topic in Chapter 10. Discuss about specific technologies related to you topic. (12 points)\n1-2 slides\n7\nOperational feasibility: Will this change how people do their job? Do other tasks? Will it be widely accepted or will there be resistance to changes related to this technology, strategy, or trend? Provide specific examples/cases related to your project. Hint: check out the operational feasibility topic in Chapter 10. (12 points)\n1-2 slides\n8\nWhat does the future hold for this technology, strategy, or trend? Is this rapidly changing? What is driving the change? Why is this an issue today and not a decade ago? (8 points)\n1-2 slides\n9\nReferences slide. You should reference at least five outside authoritative references of your material. Use the in-text citation and list all the references in the final slide. See an example below. (5 points)\n \nNote: While you are encouraged to use blogs and Wikipedia to aid you research, information posted on individual blogs and on Wikipedia DO NOT count as one of your outside authoritative references. Most Wikipedia postings have links to outside references that could be considered authoritative.\n1 slide", "start_char_idx": 0, "end_char_idx": 4505, "text_template": "{metadata_str}\n\n{content}", "metadata_template": "{key}: {value}", "metadata_seperator": "\n", "class_name": "TextNode"}, "__type__": "1"}}, "docstore/ref_doc_info": {"7ea5427e-777e-4f5e-aac3-e64a52f5e24e": {"node_ids": ["e7c0c63f-c509-4e77-b7f5-6652484161f7", "3477a722-0829-4a95-bd47-8fb55d6d31b3", "725e1739-05c1-41c1-8f44-a17008e39751", "396c9ce3-bde2-4db0-b419-56fcf3c3c570"], "metadata": {"file_path": "C:\\Users\\Limin\\openai\\mis320-Fone\\data\\Syllabus-Text.txt", "file_name": "Syllabus-Text.txt", "file_type": "text/plain", "file_size": 10512, "creation_date": "2024-05-22", "last_modified_date": "2024-05-22", "last_accessed_date": "2024-05-22"}}, "7c848118-dfce-4487-9dab-e85e780abd81": {"node_ids": ["16369465-0995-441e-8e3c-9aa5b72cb707"], "metadata": {"file_path": "C:\\Users\\Limin\\openai\\mis320-Fone\\data\\Term Project Guidelines-Summer 2024.txt", "file_name": "Term Project Guidelines-Summer 2024.txt", "file_type": "text/plain", "file_size": 4540, "creation_date": "2024-05-13", "last_modified_date": "2024-05-13", "last_accessed_date": "2024-05-13"}}}} |
