What do I do if my child’s Chromebook is damaged?
If your child is using an Access4All @ HOME Chromebook (there is a logo etched onto the top of the device), please follow the instructions below (click here for instructions in other languages). Families/Students can initiate this repair process on their own.
- CALL ACER: For help fixing a damaged Chromebook, please call Acer's Student Assist Hotline at (877) 240-2237. They are open 24/7 and can support English, French, and Spanish speakers. Please have the Chromebook in-hand before calling for help.
- MAIL IT OUT: Acer will mail you a shipping box and label free of charge. Place the Chromebook inside the labeled box and drop it off at a FedEx location. Click here to find the closest FedEx drop-off location.
- GET IT BACK: Acer will fix the Chromebook and mail it back within 5-7 working days after receipt. They'll send an email when it's repaired and ready to be mailed back to you. FedEx will not deliver or leave a package without a signature.
If your child is using a Chromebook that DOES NOT have a logo etched onto the top of the device, please return the Chromebook to your child's school where they can initiate the repair process.
For help with basic troubleshooting, please reach out to your child's school or contact the BPS Helpline at (617) 635-8873.
