Abstract

Recent large language models (LLMs) in the general domain, such as ChatGPT, have shown remarkable success in following instructions and producing human-like responses. However, such language models have not been learned individually and carefully for the medical domain, resulting in poor diagnostic accuracy and inability to give correct recommendations for medical diagnosis, medications, etc. To address this issue, we collected more than 700 diseases and their corresponding symptoms, recommended medications, and required medical tests, and then generated 5K doctor-patient conversations. By fine-tuning models of doctor-patient conversations, these models emerge with great potential to understand patients' needs, provide informed advice, and offer valuable assistance in a variety of medical-related fields. The integration of these advanced language models into healthcare can revolutionize the way healthcare professionals and patients communicate, ultimately improving the overall quality of care and patient outcomes. In addition, we will open all source code, datasets and model weights to advance the further development of dialogue models in the medical field. In addition, the training data, code, and weights of this project are available at: https://github.com/Kent0n-Li/ChatDoctor.

Alright. She's here for an annual visit. Has obesity hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and this is also a well visit. Hi. Good morning. How are you today? Hey. Good morning. Alright. Nice haircut. Nice, I guess. Well, it looks good. You've got a big day today or not too bad? Not too bad. Only 4 or 5. Oh, that's not bad. Something's doable. You're on a CPAP and, is it working good? Yeah. Oh, do you know if you miss a night? I mean, can't you, like, do you ever miss a night or you can tell? Oh, yeah. I have. I almost can't sleep without it. Alright. Yeah. That's what I've heard. And, so you should continue using that and then okay. So you're getting your pilot's license. What else have you been up to? Well, we had our trip to Southeast Asia. Oh, yeah. How was it? It was great. Cool. Mhmm. If we had, time, I'll share some pictures with you. You can maybe show me a few. We have we might have time. Now you're getting over a cold. Is that what's going on? I've, had a rough month after Christmas I had when I'm assuming it was Norwegos, like, 4 days our time is tough. Because, like, a a little better than that, the weekend after New Year's taking over our garbage into the town hall. Oh. I slipped and fell. Oh, yeets. How is that? Landed flat on my back, busted my head off. Oh, that's bad. And my back still hurts. Did you need staples? No. It wasn't that bad. Just enough that when you rub it and oh, hands bloody. Alright. That's not good. But, yeah, then then it hits your Yeah. And then so probably about 10 or 10 ish. Mhmm. Okay. I get some muscle spasms there, and the pain comes all over the way around the lips to, rips to the front. Is it still happening? Yeah. But it's much better than it was. Mhmm. Like mhmm. I can actually get up and move and breathe around. Oh, does it interfere with your sleep at all or not? No. Not really. Mhmm. But I think I have sinus infection currently because I've had this head cold for, like, 10 days, and now, you know, there's actually bloody tinging, so it's not. Mhmm. Okay. We can treat that. Yeah. Just take the whole 10 days because of the many things. Because, you know, there's not a lot of blood vessels in in your sinus, so we gotta well up the quantity. Exactly. And and do you know only fight the surface and you have bugs in center? It's a tough 1 to stay in the center. Right? And so nasal irrigation is a key part of the treatment. So Yeah. That's not happening. Yeah. Alright. So you know all this. Alright? And then we'll tap on your sinus as well. Very good. And then are you as healthy outside of being ill? Are you as healthy as you want to be? I mean, I could lost some weight and be in better physical shape. Okay. But it's less time for that. Okay. So you're not completely satisfied. But you're okay with where you're at, and that sounds fine. But movements is movement is very important along with a healthy diet. I know you like project based movement. Right? Yeah. Mhmm. You have to you like to have something that the movement is accomplishing, if you will? Yes. Split a little 5 with other day with sledge, but kind of thing. You know? Yeah. And I'm selling this downstairs. No. No. The antibiotic. Sure. Yes. You change the you know, change the smell of your urine. Okay. And then try. I can't smell anything anyways. Try it again. You know, once you're done with the antibiotic, try to do probiotics in the form of plain yogurt if you like. So I'll have some. Maybe some hot. Maybe some hot turmeric and potato salad. That's about us. Well, sure. I mean, that's not bad for you. But, yeah, that won't have the pre or probiotic, but it's okay. The yogurt. Yeah. Maybe some hot turmeric and cream cream cheese. Mhmm. Yeah. Cream cheese absolutely, you know, in the same family as and the sense of the way it's prepared. But I'll look again, Chi. Do you do you didn't you go to South Korea, though? No. Mhmm. Alright. So you're April 20 mg is working fine. Are you facing any side effects of it? No. It's working well. And I also started to monitor my blood pressure at home, and it's I've reduced around 125 to 85. Mhmm. That's very good. So you can continue to take the same dose for now, and your blood pressure in the office today is also under control. Okay. What about the cholesterol medication? It seems fine. I'm taking 40 mg dosage of it. Mhmm. Okay. Let me check your last lipid panel and, mhmm, your HDL is 38, which is under normal range, and your LDL is 90. Cool. So you can continue taking a Durvastatin with the same dose? Okay. Oh, that's great. You were what? Thailand? Singapore. Oh, cool. Singapore. Good. Then Hong Kong for a few days. Mhmm. That's great. Safeway, Taiwan, and then 3 steps in Japan. Wow. That's right. Great. Good. And did you get to a beach in Singapore? Well, that's where we pull in was the beach resort time anyway. Oh, great. Good. Yeah. I mean, you could go there or in Taiwan on real nice. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. I'm sure, people. Do you obviously, your blood pressure remains good. Do you do the annual screening here for, you know, with the sugar and the lipids? Yes. I do. But it was, like, 3 or 4 months ago. Oh, that was about a month ago they reduced it. No. It was longer than that. Oh, there's 1 coming up this month maybe. Maybe. Mhmm. I feel like it. Yeah. I did the other 1. I actually had to bring the paperwork. Okay. The cholesterol were actually really pretty good. Mhmm. And the sugar was actually 10 6, but maybe Mhmm. I haven't been behaving myself very much. Well, you have been in the prediabetes range. Yeah. That's what that's about where you've been running and, you know, that's not unusual. So the 2 labs I'm putting in and you have 6 months to do these. You can do them with the next screen. And all I need is that, doesn't cover up is your kidney function and your electrolytes. So those are the only 2 I'm going to put in. Assuming that you're going get a sugar in the lipids through your that that way we save a lot of money. Not here. Yeah. Well, we still are thorough, so I'll just, put in 1. I don't know. I'll put in 2 days. Just I'll just stay in there and but, yeah, we'll do that. And then what about the winter and activity? What have you thought of? And are there any activities you'll be doing regularly this winter? Clearing snow. Oh, well, yeah. That's not accurate for you. No. Active for the machine you're using? Especially since, yeah, using the tractor most of the time. Oh, yeah. Mhmm. I've been flying been flying on Saturday. Oh, 0, cool. That's also active machine, but that's great. I mean We will still get a cup to get a hold of the thing. I'm so happy for you. Alright. At some point, you know, your kids will have to trust that. Alright? And go up a flight with that. Yes. So that would be nice. Yeah. Of course. But it does, but not anyway with an instructor that did not go up with me and the instructor. He just wrote it in the back seat. So Oh, yeah. Mhmm. Yeah. We went to it for a couple of basketball games. She's cheerleading against. Oh, that team is great. Yeah. They are. Mhmm. They're fantastic. Do a lot better than the boys. Yeah. Yeah. So I've got this 1 spot right here. Alright. Tell me what that is of of, you know, from a distance. Right. And, occasionally, it's itchy. So Mhmm. So that's the only reason I'm not having any concern. Alright. Yeah. That's, seborrheic keratosis. It will never become malignant. And but let let me know if you ever want to do want to, you know, get it freeze. Good. Mhmm. If you just put creams are better than lotions in general. So if you buy a good moisturizing cream and, you know, if you put it, on at night, it probably won't itch. But, yeah, we don't, you know. It doesn't sound like it's annoyance that continues. Yeah. Yeah. That's not that's not a benign lesion. Okay. That's not a problem. Are you depressed at all? No. Mhmm. Okay. And do you take, you know, pleasure in your hobbies? So Yeah. That's good. Mhmm. Alright. Any more restoring work or Some. I'm just going by the wayside while you're flying. Well, I mean, we have got so much crap now. Oh, I really don't. I know. We have really, really got to get rid of the bunch of stuff, but we can. Uh-huh. Okay. I'll check off everything you've got. I appreciate you being thorough. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You do your thing. Mhmm. Then I will plan on doing my part. Cool. Sounds like it's not much more than a dot. Yeah. It looks like hey. Actually, check a few reflexes, do the vision test. That's those, you know, that those would be the biggest changes. We'll have to add up, a little everything else is about the same, you know. Okay. Because I've actually got pretty good vision. I just can't read without glasses. Alright. And do you remember what, what your last call in cancer screening was? I can look it up in the Archie, but I was just wondering if you remember. It's been a few Euros. Mhmm. Was it the colorectal? It was the colorectal. Yeah. Alright. Let me just look it up here and I bet I can find. Yeah. Got it. Mhmm. Let me know if you face any issues. K. Alright. Goodbye."
