Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking Test
Welcome to this section on Part 3 of the IELTS speaking test
In the third and last part of the speaking test, known as the ‘The Two-way Discussion’, you will engage in a discussion with the examiner and will have the chance to express your views on a certain topic in a more abstract way. The examiner will assess your ability to analyse the topic, express views, justify opinions, organise and evaluate ideas.

In this section of the course, you will:
- learn about the format of Part 3 of the test, and the kind of questions you may be asked,
- acquire strategies which will help you provide more effective answers,
- learn specific language skills to help you improve your fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation,
- learn useful tips to do your best when answering questions for this first part of the test,
- watch and analyse a candidate answering some sample questions for this part of the test, and
- have the chance to answer some practice questions and self-assess your responses.
