Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking Test

Welcome to this section on Part  2 of the IELTS speaking test

In the second part of the speaking test, known as the ‘The Long Turn’, you will give a short presentation on a topic provided by the examiner. You will be assessed on your ability to speak at length using appropriate language. 

.

In this section of the course, you will:

  • learn about the format of Part 2 of the test, and the kind of questions you may be asked,
  • acquire strategies which will help you provide more effective answers,
  • learn specific language skills to help you improve your fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation,
  • learn useful tips to do your best when answering questions for this first part of the test,
  • watch and analyse a candidate answering some sample questions for this part of the test, and
  • have the chance to answer some practice questions and self-assess your responses.
