Hi, I’m Akilesh Jayakumar, though most people call me Aki. I’m a software engineer specializing in emerging technologies, particularly in AI and web development. My work revolves around solving complex challenges and pushing the boundaries of what technology can do.

Currently, I’m focused on mastering tools like Svelte, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AWS, which are central to my recent projects. During my internship at HTX, I worked on developing NLP pipelines to improve large language models for Generative AI applications. This involved using Azure Machine Learning Studio and HuggingFace models, where I built Docker environments to optimize microservices.

I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Wollongong, with a focus on Big Data and Cybersecurity. My foundation in programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and SQL, as well as frameworks like Next.js, has been crucial in my projects.

One of my favorite projects was a RAG-driven chatbot deployed on HuggingFace Spaces, showcasing my ability to integrate advanced AI into web applications. I also built a real-time chatbot using Next.js and the Vercel SDK, emphasizing the importance of continuous integration.

Outside of work, I’m a big fan of science fiction and comic book movies, especially the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I also enjoy performing magic tricks, juggling, and staying active through badminton and basketball.

I’m always looking for new challenges in AI, automation, and cloud computing, particularly opportunities that allow me to collaborate with others and make a meaningful impact in the tech world.
