## Our mission is to democratize good machine learning.

#### **As a platform, we are doing this by empowering the community through open and collaborative technology building at the intersection of science, engineering, and humanities.**

**#1 A strong bias for action, impact, and simplicity.** We measure impact through usage, visibility, or revenue. We are practical, pragmatic, and action-driven. Learning is best achieved through doing: we launch, then iterate and improve. When facing an opportunity or challenge, we actively take charge, assume responsibility, and find solutions. We prioritize action over perfection in most situations.

**#2 A generalist, diverse, and value-informed mindset.** We thrive on multidisciplinarity and are passionate about all aspects of machine learning, from science and engineering to its societal and business impact. We are committed to expanding both our individual and collective impact, even if it requires venturing beyond our comfort zones, job descriptions, or existing areas of expertise.

**#3 A progressive, nimble, and decentralized approach.** We are constantly evolving and value the process of learning more than our current level of knowledge. We like doing things differently than other companies, taking risks, reflecting critically on what we have done, and fixing mistakes fast. We welcome scrappiness, distributed systems & bias for simplicity. This mindset grants us the freedom to pursue unconventional paths and encourages experimentation.

**#4 A kind ambition.** We are ambitious but humble. We aim big in our work but don’t take it or ourselves too seriously. We recognize that there are more important things in life, like health & family. We strive to be nice human beings, to have fun, and to work healthily and sustainably on topics with teams that excite us.
