HOT3D: Hand and Object Tracking in 3D from Egocentric Multi-View Videos

We introduce HOT3D, a publicly available dataset for egocentric hand and object tracking in 3D. The dataset offers over 833 minutes (more than 3.7M images) of multi-view RGB/monochrome image streams showing 19 subjects interacting with 33 diverse rigid objects, multi-modal signals such as eye gaze or scene point clouds, as well as comprehensive ground-truth annotations including 3D poses of objects, hands, and cameras, and 3D models of hands and objects. In addition to simple pick-up/observe/put-down actions, HOT3D contains scenarios resembling typical actions in a kitchen, office, and living room environment. The dataset is recorded by two head-mounted devices from Meta: Project Aria, a research prototype of light-weight AR/AI glasses, and Quest 3, a production VR headset sold in millions of units. Ground-truth poses were obtained by a professional motion-capture system using small optical markers attached to hands and objects. Hand annotations are provided in the UmeTrack and MANO formats and objects are represented by 3D meshes with PBR materials obtained by an in-house scanner. In our experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of multi-view egocentric data for three popular tasks: 3D hand tracking, 6DoF object pose estimation, and 3D lifting of unknown in-hand objects. The evaluated multi-view methods, whose benchmarking is uniquely enabled by HOT3D, significantly outperform their single-view counterparts.

SR3R: Rethinking Super-Resolution 3D Reconstruction With Feed-Forward Gaussian Splatting

3D super-resolution (3DSR) aims to reconstruct high-resolution (HR) 3D scenes from low-resolution (LR) multi-view images. Existing methods rely on dense LR inputs and per-scene optimization, which restricts the high-frequency priors for constructing HR 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) to those inherited from pretrained 2D super-resolution (2DSR) models. This severely limits reconstruction fidelity, cross-scene generalization, and real-time usability. We propose to reformulate 3DSR as a direct feed-forward mapping from sparse LR views to HR 3DGS representations, enabling the model to autonomously learn 3D-specific high-frequency geometry and appearance from large-scale, multi-scene data. This fundamentally changes how 3DSR acquires high-frequency knowledge and enables robust generalization to unseen scenes. Specifically, we introduce SR3R, a feed-forward framework that directly predicts HR 3DGS representations from sparse LR views via the learned mapping network. To further enhance reconstruction fidelity, we introduce Gaussian offset learning and feature refinement, which stabilize reconstruction and sharpen high-frequency details. SR3R is plug-and-play and can be paired with any feed-forward 3DGS reconstruction backbone: the backbone provides an LR 3DGS scaffold, and SR3R upscales it to an HR 3DGS. Extensive experiments across three 3D benchmarks demonstrate that SR3R surpasses state-of-the-art (SOTA) 3DSR methods and achieves strong zero-shot generalization, even outperforming SOTA per-scene optimization methods on unseen scenes.

mmEgoHand: Egocentric Hand Pose Estimation and Gesture Recognition with Head-mounted Millimeter-wave Radar and IMU

Recent advancements in millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar have demonstrated its potential for human action recognition and pose estimation, offering privacy-preserving advantages over conventional cameras while maintaining occlusion robustness, with promising applications in human-computer interaction and wellness care. However, existing mmWave systems typically employ fixed-position configurations, restricting user mobility to predefined zones and limiting practical deployment scenarios. We introduce mmEgoHand, a head-mounted egocentric system for hand pose estimation to support applications such as gesture recognition, VR interaction, skill digitization and assessment, and robotic teleoperation. mmEgoHand synergistically integrates mmWave radar with inertial measurement units (IMUs) to enable dynamic perception. The IMUs actively compensate for radar interference induced by head movements, while our novel end-to-end Transformer architecture simultaneously estimates 3D hand keypoint coordinates through multi-modal sensor fusion. This dual-modality framework achieves spatial-temporal alignment of mmWave heatmaps with IMUs, overcoming viewpoint instability inherent in egocentric sensing scenarios. We further demonstrate that intermediate hand pose representations substantially improve performance in downstream task, e.g., VR gesture recognition. Extensive evaluations with 10 subjects performing 8 gestures across 3 distinct postures -- standing, sitting, lying -- achieve 90.8% recognition accuracy, outperforming state-of-the-art solutions by a large margin. Dataset and code are available at https://github.com/WhisperYi/mmVR.

3DSRBench: A Comprehensive 3D Spatial Reasoning Benchmark

3D spatial reasoning is the ability to analyze and interpret the positions, orientations, and spatial relationships of objects within the 3D space. This allows models to develop a comprehensive understanding of the 3D scene, enabling their applicability to a broader range of areas, such as autonomous navigation, robotics, and AR/VR. While large multi-modal models (LMMs) have achieved remarkable progress in a wide range of image and video understanding tasks, their capabilities to perform 3D spatial reasoning on diverse natural images are less studied. In this work we present the first comprehensive 3D spatial reasoning benchmark, 3DSRBench, with 2,772 manually annotated visual question-answer pairs across 12 question types. We conduct robust and thorough evaluation of 3D spatial reasoning capabilities by balancing the data distribution and adopting a novel FlipEval strategy. To further study the robustness of 3D spatial reasoning w.r.t. camera 3D viewpoints, our 3DSRBench includes two subsets with 3D spatial reasoning questions on paired images with common and uncommon viewpoints. We benchmark a wide range of open-sourced and proprietary LMMs, uncovering their limitations in various aspects of 3D awareness, such as height, orientation, location, and multi-object reasoning, as well as their degraded performance on images with uncommon camera viewpoints. Our 3DSRBench provide valuable findings and insights about the future development of LMMs with strong 3D reasoning capabilities. DSFNet: Learning Disentangled Scenario Factorization for Multi-Scenario Route Ranking

Multi-scenario route ranking (MSRR) is crucial in many industrial mapping systems. However, the industrial community mainly adopts interactive interfaces to encourage users to select pre-defined scenarios, which may hinder the downstream ranking performance. In addition, in the academic community, the multi-scenario ranking works only come from other fields, and there are no works specifically focusing on route data due to lacking a publicly available MSRR dataset. Moreover, all the existing multi-scenario works still fail to address the three specific challenges of MSRR simultaneously, i.e. explosion of scenario number, high entanglement, and high-capacity demand. Different from the prior, to address MSRR, our key idea is to factorize the complicated scenario in route ranking into several disentangled factor scenario patterns. Accordingly, we propose a novel method, Disentangled Scenario Factorization Network (DSFNet), which flexibly composes scenario-dependent parameters based on a high-capacity multi-factor-scenario-branch structure. Then, a novel regularization is proposed to induce the disentanglement of factor scenarios. Furthermore, two extra novel techniques, i.e. scenario-aware batch normalization and scenario-aware feature filtering, are developed to improve the network awareness of scenario representation. Additionally, to facilitate MSRR research in the academic community, we propose MSDR, the first large-scale publicly available annotated industrial Multi-Scenario Driving Route dataset. Comprehensive experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our DSFNet, which has been successfully deployed in AMap to serve the major online traffic.

EgoMAGIC- An Egocentric Video Field Medicine Dataset for Training Perception Algorithms

This paper introduces EgoMAGIC (Medical Assistance, Guidance, Instruction, and Correction), an egocentric medical activity dataset collected as part of DARPA's Perceptually-enabled Task Guidance (PTG) program. This dataset comprises 3,355 videos of 50 medical tasks, with at least 50 labeled videos per task. The primary objective of the PTG program was to develop virtual assistants integrated into augmented reality headsets to assist users in performing complex tasks. To encourage exploration and research using this dataset, the medical training data has been released along with an action detection challenge focused on eight medical tasks. The majority of the videos were recorded using a head-mounted stereo camera with integrated audio. From this dataset, 40 YOLO models were trained using 1.95 million labels to detect 124 medical objects, providing a robust starting point for developers working on medical AI applications. In addition to introducing the dataset, this paper presents baseline results on action detection for the eight selected medical tasks across three models, with the best-performing method achieving average mAP 0.526. Although this paper primarily addresses action detection as the benchmark, the EgoMAGIC dataset is equally suitable for action recognition, object identification and detection, error detection, and other challenging computer vision tasks. The dataset is accessible via zenodo.org (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19239154).
